Hi, car wheel design and size is a matter of personal taste, i've had team dynamics 'imola' design 18'' wheels and eibach lowering springs fitted to my mito, i like the graphite colour on a red car, if you go on an alloy wheel website like wheelbase it will tell you the offset and maximum width you can fit on the mito. click for pic

In truth the Alfa Romeo Mito 1.6 JTDm will sell on style first, but Alfa deserves credit for creating a likeable car, even if the high-temperature-washing-machine-accident looks are not to your taste.
As a driving holiday, pootling down through France and Spain would be great, but it eats into the time for the stay. Me and Mrs Slog can fly for £120 (for the 2 of us) and hire a car at about £8 a day. A Mito will do it fine - we've done 1000s of kms of continental driving in both of Mrs Slog's.
