Over the weekend, Southwest Airlines became the final domestic carrier to put the beleaguered jet back on its schedule. The Dallas-based carrier will restart MAX service on March 11, with four flights scheduled to take off at the same time across the network (9 a.m. Eastern, 8 a.m. Central and 7 a.m. Mountain).Boeing is delaying the ramp-up of 737 MAX production by two months, planning to build 42 aircraft per month from February 2024. The delay has caused a snowball effect on production targets, pushing the goal of building 52.5 aircraft per month to February 2025. Supplier issues with Spirit AeroSystems have impacted delivery rates throughout 2023.
